BHSelect™ and Management Performance

Process

BHSelect™ was implemented in a multi-unit restaurant company for management selection. Job performance ratings on nine competencies and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's - e.g., sales, guest count, hourly retention) were collected from the manager's performance improvement plan. BHSelect scores were divided into 2 groups: High Scorers (bottom 30%) and Low Scorers (top 30%). Managers receiving high or low scores on both the objective KPIs and performance ratings were also divided into two groups.

Results

Of those "high scorers" on BHSelect™, 45% were identified as "High" on both overall KPI and overall Job Performance, while only 20% were identified "Low" on both overall KPI and Overall Job Performance. Of those "low scorers" on BHSelect™ 37% were identified as "Low" on both overall KPI and overall Job Performance, while only 25% were identified "High" on both overall KPI and Overall Job Performance.
